従来の高校生の進路選択行動に関する研究では，個人の何らかの能力との関係で議論されることが多かった。しかし，昨今の調査の結果では高校生の進路選択を左右する要因に，塾をはじめとする「社会的な影響」が無視できないものとして表れてきている。そこで本稿では，従来から指摘されている個人の能力としての進路選択自己効力尺度と同時に，社会的な影響として塾や学校種に焦点をあてて，進路選択行動がどのように説明されるか検討を試みた。調査は都市部高校生1243人を対象に行われた。その結果，４年制大学等への進学率が高い「上位校」内では，通塾の有無が進路選択行動に差をもたらすなど，学校種や通塾の有無によっても，進路選択行動が説明される可能性が示唆された。 In the research on career choice behavior of a conventional high school students, it was often discussed in relation to some ability of the individual.
