Aiming at the Teaching Practices which Foster Global Citizenship through Collaborative & Active Learning

As English teaching professionals living in this global society, we strive torespond to the needs of the times. However, it seems to be of utmost importanceto first agree upon a shared principle from which each teaching method is derived.In this paper, the author focuses on the significance of fostering global citizenship.She then examines the effectiveness of her teaching practices, in terms of studentdiscussion, creation of global event materials and incorporation, and mini researchproject presentations. Starting from a rather narrow scope, she aims to derivesome teaching essentials from continual practice and research using student feedback.Student feedback shows the positive effect her teaching methods have had onfostering global citizenship.
