A Study of the Relationship between Anger and Emotional Intelligence

山本, 晃輔

内容記述
This study examined the relationship between anger and emotional intelligence. Undergraduate students (70 male and 24 female) were asked to rate items from the J-ESCQ (Japanese version of the Emotional Skills & Competence Questionnaire) by Toyota, Morita, & Taksic (2007) and the AALS (Anger Arousal and Lengthiness Scale) by Watanabe & Kodama(2001). Results showed significant negative correlations between the following: (1) total score of the AALS and PU (Perceiving and Understanding emotion) in the J-ESCQ, (2) total score of the AALS and MR (Managing and Regulation emotion) in the J-ESCQ,(3) anger lengthiness in the AALS and PU, and (4) anger lengthiness in the AALS and MR. These findings suggest that emotional intelligence plays a significant role in anger lengthiness.
