(22)  , pp.1 - 6 , 2015-03-31 , 金沢工業大学
This study investigates the effectiveness of creative communicative learning tasks, created to supplement a reading textbook, on students’ reading skills, communicative ability, and motivation. Science and Engineering students find it difficult to understand academic English readings. Therefore, the researcher developed content-based conversations to help students understand the content, improve their reading skills, and raise their motivation to learn English. After finishing the course, students’ perceptions of these content-based conversations were investigated. Participants in the study were Science, Technology, and Engineering University students enrolled in 11 English language classes at the Kanazawa Institute of Technology (KIT). Results of the study indicated that these kinds of creative communicative learning tasks helped them understand the content and improved their reading skills.
