旧近衛輜重兵大隊営内における射撃場建築 （世田谷区池尻）の復原的考察旧近衛輜重兵大隊営内における射撃場建築 （世田谷区池尻）の復原的考察 Restorative Research into the Former Firing Range in the Imperial Guards Transport Battalion Unit Located in Ikejiri, Setagaya Ward, Tokyo
A remodeled building of a former firing range was measured and investigated in 2014 and 2015 by means of old maps, aerial photographs, and official documents in an attempt to determine the history of the construction and make a record of the building in its original state before it is razed in 2015. The following conclusions were obtained. The reinforced concrete construction was built between 1928 and 1929, and was about 11 meters wide, and approximately 133 meters long. An assembly site, a launching site, the butts, and a firing mount were installed. The iron pole which moved a target up and down still remained intact in the basement butts. The shooting distance was 50 meters and the direction was from west to east. The ceilings right above the butts and the launching site were open so that they could get enough external light. The inside of the firing range construction was altered into segmented chambers and each was used as a warehouse, an office or a studio after the Second World War but the frame of the original structure remained unchanged.
