Conference Paper Performance Demonstration Tests for ITER gyrotron

The electron cyclotron heating and current drive system in ITER is planned to inject 20 MW into the plasma using 24 sets of 170 GHz, 1MW gyrotron. QST procures eight ITER gyrotron systems. Continuous operation of 1 MW power was demonstrated in the ITER proto-type gyrotron and fabrications of two ITER gyrotrons were completed. Beam patterns at the window agreed with the design was obtained and 1 MW output power at short-pulse operation was also performed.
