Various shapes and sizes of areas with the microstructure wer e fabricated on PDMS substrates by DLC thin film deposition, and the relationship between the microstructures and hMSC behaviors was investigated. The DLC thin film deposited areas showed the effect to collect the cells inside. Moreover, it was found that arranging the areas at regular intervals became the efficient method to control the cellular stretching directions and produce F -actin network between hMSCs.
