Departmental Bulletin Paper Formation of Multicellular Spheroids on Arrayed Microwells with Microstructure(Overseas Activities)

PDMS-based scaffold substrates with arrayed microwells having concavo-convex microstructure on their surfaces were fabricated using combination methods of ink-jet and diamond-like carbon (DLC) thin film deposition, and mouse myoblast cells (C2C12) were cultured on the substrates. The multicellular spheroids with about 100 μm diameters, corresponding to the diameter of the fabricated microwells, were formed inside the arrayed microwells and the ridges between microwells.
