Optimum control of the ankle joint actuator is essential for realizing a stable gait when wearing an active ankle foot orthosis (AFO). An optimum timing control system using the monitored load of both feet is designed and examined. A wireless sensor network (WSN) module is used to monitor load. The gait cycle is estimated from the load change of both feet. The WSN module is practical because it is compact, robust and inexpensive.
