A laboratory-scale energy conversion system using supercritical fluid is established. For the analysis on thermal-flow characteristics, a numerical modeling of system of equations is proposed. The numerical modeling utilizes data from a fluid data base instead of equation of state to overcome the problem that the equation of state is not yet formulated for supercritical fluids. Numerical simulations are carried out with the finite element method. In this report, the numerical method and the established energy conversion system are explained. Some numerical results are reported.
