The Rise and Its Context of Radical Right-Wing Populist Parties in West European Countries

Since late 1980s when the deepening and widening of globalization and EU proceeded, many radical right-wing populist parties such as Wilders’ Freedom Party in Netherlands and Marine Le Pen’s National Front in France have been becoming increasingly influential in West European politics. Some radical right-wing populist parties which place their emphasis on nationalism, racism and anti-immigration participated in government as a result of their electoral success. This article aims at searching for the present rise and its context of radical right-wing populist parties in Western Europe.
