Perceptions of dementia patient group home managers toward service evaluation

【目的】認知症対応型共同生活介護(グループホーム)管理者におけるサービス評価の認識や理解度を明らかにすることを目的とした。【方法】A県某市にあるグループホームの管理者4名に対し、半構造化面接を実施した。主な調査内容は、サービス評価制度についての理解、サービス評価の方法、評価機関等についてである。面接内容をKJ法の手法を用いて分類・分析した。【結果】サービス評価に対する認識を6 カテゴリーと13 のサブカテゴリーにまとめた。管理者はサービス評価受審について、必要である・ケアを見直す機会と捉えながらも、評価方法や評価項目に疑問を感じながら受審しており、評価機関や評価調査員の資質向上への期待があることが明らかになった。効果や理解は支持しながらも、評価方法や項目、受審費用へ疑問を抱いていた。【考察】適正な受審価格および評価調査員の資質向上が課題である。
Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate the perceptions of managers of group homes for elderly dementia patients and their level of understanding for service evaluation.Methods: Semi-structured interviews were carried out with four managers of group homes for dementia patients . The survey questions were designed to ascertain the thoughts of managers, and covered issues such as their understanding of evaluation and their thoughts about it, whether evaluation was useful for improving the level of service and training the staff, and whether they perceived it as an imposition.Results: Interview content was categorized and analyzed by the KJ method, and organized into six categories and 13 subcategories. Although the managers understood undergoing service evaluation as necessary and an opportunity for care review, they had doubts about the evaluation methods used and the items covered, and expressed questions about the quality of the evaluating agencies and evaluators. Conclusion: Our study showed that while managers were supportive of and understood the effectiveness of service evaluation, they had doubts about the evaluation methods used and the cost involved, and would, in addition, like to see qualitative improvements on the part of evaluating agencies and evaluators.
