In this paper, we tried a cross section analysis on the factors influencing the number of birthsin the each area of Kyushu and Okinawa. To examine the effect of the economic situation ofyoung households on childbirth, we estimated the avarage income of young people and theratio of the young low-income group in economic areas in Kyushu and Okinawa from "NationalSurvey of Family Income and Expenditure" and conducted quantitative analysis of therelation between the variables and the number of birth. As a result, the ways of determiningthe birth number in Kyushu and Okinawa differ from each other. Moreover, in each region ofKyushu excluding Okinawa, their scale of economy decides their own number of births andtheir economic status of young people does not significantly affect their birth number.
