Narratives of clients or patients in clinical settings, such as clinics, hospitals, and counseling rooms, reflect their own distinct inner psychic world. In this paper, the author focuses on their rhetoric from the perspectives of psychoanalysis, cognitive linguistics, object relationships, and analytical psychology. Specifically, it is proposed that the literary style in Ulysses by James Joyce, offers points on new approaches for responding to autistic clients who are threatened by sudden contamination of certain past severe episodes.
