The Model of Inclusive Education and the Role of Special―needs School ―Through Exchange Activities and Collaborative Learning―

In this article, first we investigate the relationship between the inclusive education systemand the idea of normalization so that we can clarify the model of the inclusive education.We next review “the exchange activities and collaborative learning” at the special-needsschool where one of the authors works as well as the situation of the inclusive educationsystem in other prefectures. Then we consider how we can construct “the exchange activitiesand collaborative learning” and the inclusive education systems from primary to uppersecondary education.Moreover, we get suggestions on the formation of cohesive society, the model of theinclusive education, and the role of special-needs schools, based on the view of TsunesaburoMakiguchi, the author of “The Theory of Value-Creating Pedagogy” and the founder of thephilosophy of Soka University.
