A Study on Static and Dynamic Characteristics of Hydrostatic Bearing

JAXA is considering apply a hydrostatic bearing for rocket engine turbopumps. As a first step, rotordynamic tests and numerical analysis were conducted to compare the results of each other. Because there was a difference in local pressure distribution and damping coefficient in each result, it became clear that it is necessary to continue performing improvements.
