Study of precise measurement system for thermally stable structures

In this paper, the research and development of precise measurement systems for the accurate evaluation of thermal deformation of spacecraft structures are reported. The research and development have been conducted from the material testing technologies such as the development of ultra-precise measurement system for low-thermal expansion materials to the system level testing technologies for the precise telescope systems. As a result, we obtained core testing technologies such as the precise displacement measurement within 0.1micro-m accuracy, highly stable measurement environment within 0.15C and 0.9%RH fluctuation in air condition and thermally stable optical table system within 0.02ppm/K. Furthermore, we have integrated elemental technologies to provide a system level measurement facility.
