Rendezvous with a target on the EML2 Halo

The attention to the use of the EML2 and its halo orbits as a hub for deep space exploration has been growing. It is important to establish the way to make a spacecraft safely approach to and dock with the hub. This paper discusses rendezvous trajectories to the target on the EML2 halo. Two types of trajectories are evaluated in term of ΔV and the collision avoidance. The results show that the proposed rendezvous strategies enable the chaser to approach the target with small ΔV avoiding the risk of collision.
