Helium has been used as the pressurant gas for the propellants. Because helium is a strategy substance and its soaring prices have been a problem, we are considering whether nitrogen is used as the pressurant candidate instead of helium for a LNG (methane) engine. On the other hand we worry about the adverse effect on the engine performance due to dissolution of nitrogen gas in liquid methane. We are acquiring the solubility of nitrogen gas in methane liquid.
