On-orbit status of the SOI-FPGA In-orbit Demonstration Equipment(SOFIE) onboard ALOS-2

SOI-FPGA In-orbit demonstration Equipment (SOFIE) on board ALOS-2 was launched on May 24, 2014. The purpose of the mission is to demonstrate an SOI-FPGA and JAXA qualified EEE parts so that we promote the use of them. The SOI-FPGA under development by CNES/Atmel and JAXA/HIREC is reconfigurable SRAM type and has 450k gates using SOI (Silicon on Insulator) technology. We have conducted on-orbit operation of SOFIE for one year since the launch and their functional stability has been confirmed. This paper describes the mission details and reports the experimental results.
