Investigation of Power Generator for Energy Harvesting in Space Environment

The energy harvesting is the technology which utilizes feeble environmental energy for small electric power (approximately micro-W) to drive wireless sensor modules. In space, radiation energy is generally available anytime anywhere. We can utilize the energy for the harvesting, but it has not been investigated how much electric power can be obtained from the radiation. In this work, we examined the power generation characteristics of space solar cells due to electrons and protons. We also estimated the amount of generation current by electrons and protons at geostationary orbit.
