Simulation of Motion of an Active Debris Removal Satellite with Towing Wire

This paper shows the simulation results of the debris’ motion connected with the ADR satellite by towing wire. The satellite is equipped with the propulsion system to control its own attitude and orbit and it can be also used to control the debris’ motion. We model the wire as a multi-mass system and construct the thruster-control laws to make the debris’ attitude lower and get rid of it from the orbit. The results show that adding constant acceleration can make the debris’ attitude lower without divergence.
