Camping is a useful program in Experimental Education. The purpose of this study is to learnabout current camping opportunities and conditions for people with disabilities around the Osakacity area of Japan.Camping opportunities and conditions for people with disabilities were examined using amailed survey of 70 social welfare settings and camping organizations that provide campingopportunities for people with disabilities. 45 organizations responded to the full survey (aresponse rate of 64%), 37 of which provided camping opportunities for people with disabilitiesduring the period surveyed, April 2014 to March 2015.The previous survey (Takeuchi, 2015) showed there are many organizations that offer campsfor people with disabilities. However, this survey reveals the challenges they face which includelimited facilities, obtaining funding, staff training, providing medical support and catering to olderparticipants and those with specific needs. Despite this, these organizations are highly motivatedto improve the quality of experiences available to disabled campers. Further public assistanceand charitable donations are required in order to help them in achieving their goal. This research is supported by “Tokutei Kojin Kenkyuhi” at St. Andrew’s (Momoyama Gakuin)University and the Japan Society for Promotion of Science ( JSPS).
