Since 2000, exports of Japanese agricultural and marine products have increased. Japanese government has declared the goal to achieve one trillion yen scale exports by 2020. Actually the rate of exports has decreased drastically from 2008 to 2012. The fall is supposed to be caused by the world economic depression in the end of 2000's, influence of Fukushima Daiich nuclear power station's disaster, and so on. In this paper, the following factors are shown as possible causes of the fall based on the surveys in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China; 1) high prices affect the export business most, 2) brand images of some products have not established yet abroad, 3) markets of some products have not found yet, 4) more consideration is necessary to the local trading habits, 5) needs of stricter control to the fake products. For expansion of exports of Japanese agricultural and marine products, strategies should be planned based on the market research.
