Agriculture plays an important role as a basic industry in China. Its development has a great influence on the growth of the whole country's economy. Since 1980s, with the development of "Reform and Opening up" and the relax of restriction in the household registration system, a mass of rural labor have moved to the cities. Although these people, in some degree, increase their income, they get little corresponding vocational education, which seriously affects the increase of income. In order to solve the agricultural problems including non-agricultural income of peasants, Chinese government has attached a great importance to the rural vocational education and implemented agricultural and non-agricultural vocational education. This article systematically discusses the development of Chinese rural vocational education and its current issues.
