Description
In Japan, Hudoki is originally the title for chorographies or reports, which the central government ordered each province to present in 813. It got the status as a symbol of “lost antiquity” in pre−modern Japan. Thus the preference for “hudoki”, that is hudokiphilia, prevails in modern Japan. “Hudoki” is used for the title of books, musics, dramas, movies, TV−program, web−pages, and many goods with local tastes. This article examined the state of publication of books titled as hudoki. They have been published concentratedly in 1970-2000. The regions which these hudoki describe are mainly Japan. The spatial scale of these books is smaller than prefectures.
