By inspecting the ownership of renewable energy facilities, particularly of wind and solar powers in Japan after the introduction of Feed-in tariff in 2012. this paper have revealed the present structure of renewable energy businesses in Japan and clarified that their interests, roughly four fifths of wind power and half of mega solar power, simply flow out from places of power generation to mostly big cities like Tokyo, without benefiting the local economy. In contrast to the cases of Denmark and Germany where many renewable energy facilities are owned by local residents, the present local ownership of those plants in Japan seems to be too low for the further promotion of renewable energies.
