This study aims at a practical use of Digital game education in area studies. As Fujimoto(2015) notes, Recent trend of game-based learning extends its meaning as applying game elements in coursework and entire school curriculum. This paper gives a brief introduction of Digital game education, and proposes used of <Game Engine< on the basis of its properties that can solve traditionally argued problems in Game production. Based on this, we explore the applications we see for game-based learning in our contexts in Japanese higher education.
