内容記述
This essay reads Chaucer's Troilus and Criseyde as an early example that illustrates the power of desire whereby one's life is lived as narrative. This does not mean that Fortune has little to do with the tragedy of Troilus, but rather that his story is fitted to explore the nature of human psychology in relation to the problem of fate, suggesting that Fortune has more or less impact depending on how strong one's desire is.
