Description
The (1 + n)body problem with n in nitesimal masses [3, 4, 11, 13] is generalized to the general (1 + n)body problem (G(1 + n)BP) in which n arbitrary noninfinitesimal masses influence a massive central primary. We clarify that the G(1+n)BP has the central configurations similar to those of the (1+n)body problem. We also propose the discretetime general (1 + n)body problem (dG(1 + n)BP), which approximates the orbits of theG(1+n)BP. Moreover, we proved that the dG(1+n)BP has the same central configurations as the G(1+n)BP. Until the proof in this work, there has been no discrete analog of the G(1+n)BP preserving these central configurations.
