In this study, we examined what young children gain from physical expression activities. We asked children to draw pictures on the same topic before and after a physical expression activity on that topic. Then we analyzed the oral statements collected from 6 examiners on the transformation of the drawings. As a result, what young children gain from physical expression activities were divided into 5 concept of 18 categories (Commitment to subject, Transformation of subject image, Awareness of expression elements, Transformation of the self, Consciousness towards others). The results encourage nursery and kindergarten teachers to carry out more physical expression activities.
