This paper discusses a practical study that aims to improve adapted sports practices for helping children with severe and multiple disabilities.Five main elements were identified when examining such children’s experience of sitting on benches: learning how to shift one’s center of gravity and adjust one’s body posture was possible, dynamic use of one’s arms was possible and the extension and maintenance of the trunk was easy, and adjusting one’s front posture while practicing calm breathing was possible.Based on these results, an approach in which activities can be practiced without wheelchairs or without keeping the subject bedridden or in the same position for a prolonged period every day is suggested.
