The purpose of our study is to improve the quality of reconstructed images by using a triple head multi-pinhole SPECT system. In this study, we investigated the feasibility of the proposed system with Monte Carlo simulations and experiments. The phantoms used in the simulations were a brain phantom and MCAT phantom, and used in the experiments were Hoffman brain phantom and myocardial phantom. The numbers of pinholes assumed in this study were eight and eleven. The targeted gamma camera system was GCA-9300R (Toshiba). The results of simulations and experiments showed that an acceptable image can be reconstructed with six angular position in the data acquisition.Key Words : SPECT, multi-pinhole collimator, OS-EM method
