The purpose of this research is to perform a region segmentation with high accuracy with cone-beam CT images. In order to realize this region segmentation, we used a photon counting detector that was able to count the number of photons having a specified energy. We used a singular value decomposition methodfor the purpose of decomposing materials. In order to evaluate the performance of the material decomposition using the data acquired with a photon counting detector, we performed simulations with a Monte Carlo method to make projection data. And then, we evaluated the material decomposition methodusing media consisted of a human-body such as muscle and bone.Key Words : Cone-beam CT, Singular value decomposition, Region segmentation, Therapy
