This study shows how railway of Tokyo influenced the image of this city. In Tokyo, the image of city was made up by railroads. Before modern age, as wheeled vehicles had not developed and there were no street names, roads could not form up the image of Tokyo. Otherwise, the city was developed by railroads, and in modern period, railroads had been used in city guides. And point data like stations and stops have been used from Meiji era, when trams were developed. Now, image of station is bigger than in Meiji era, especially in main stations where railway lines are linked together, which forms up the image the city.
