The purpose of this study is to point out the characteristics of college town focusing on the students’ use of shops and restaurants around the university by comparison between ‘Waseda’ as typical college town and ‘Hosei’ as ambiguous one. From the questionnaire survey for the students, the following points were clarified: 1) while staying time in the university site in Waseda is more than 3 times in Hosei, they don’t feel comfortable so much. 2) Variation of activity is abundant in Waseda, especially drinking activity is active. 3) While the students inWaseda showed high sense of belonging to the neighborhood, those in Hosei tend to emphasize the traffic convenience.
