This paper is a short essay about studies of Grief which are written by Sigmund Freud, Melanie Klein, John Bowlby, and Keigo Okonogi. The final aim is to describe parents’, mainly mother’s mechanism of recovery process from their abusing of children. This paper is one piece of this aim. The lag of support for abusing mother seems to be caused by the complexity and difficulty of their mechanism. They often have been abused in their childhood and can’t remember it. The process of recovery is partly covered with the process of mourning work and grief work. In grief workpeople experience deep attachment to the lost object. Like as grief work abusing mothers sometimes show attachment to their hard and trying childhood, which includes abused experience. In order to support abusing mothers who abuse their children as an irrelevant strategy to survive from abused childhood, grief studies may help us.
