The number of service stations is continuing to fall with the result that it is difficult for people living in the depopulated areas around these stations to survive. It is hoped that electric vehicles will become popular in Japan, but vehicle sales have not increased. This paper makes a proposal, for the sake of these local residents, whereby the offices connected to the stations would replace the service they provide to ‘Gasoline-Powered Vehicles’ with one geared to ‘Electric Light Commercial Vehicles’.
