This paper presents effective method for structural morphogenesis using a cellular automaton, representing a simple conceptual basis for the self-organization of structural systems. The proposed methods are sufficiently simple to solve topology optimization problems as pure 0-1 problems. Local rules for add and delete of cells are based on stress distribution in the structure. The effectiveness of the proposed method for 2-demensional problems is demonstrated through numerical topology optimization problem examples that introduce the buckling condition.
