SYNTHESIS AND RADICAL PORIMERIZATION OF ACRYLIC MONOMERS BEARING WITH PERFLUOROALKYLATED AZOBENZENE UNIT

Novel acrylic monomers bearing with perfluoroalkylated azobenzene units (FAzA, FAzEA) were synthesized and applied for the block copolymerization under ATRP conditions in TFT/DMSO at 120 ℃ for 24 h with PtBA-Br as a macroinitiator. Block copolymer PtBA-b-PFAzEA was successfully obtained and possessed the rather high molecular weight (Mn = 19300) and narrow molecular weight distribution. As expectedly, high contact angles of water and dodecane droplets were observed for PtBA-b-PFAzEA film, clearly indicating the hydrophobic and oleophobic surface formation.
