The focus of this study is Effect of subjective Estimate of self-fitness on motivation for sport participation of university students. Three different characteristics were identified form factor analysis. 1． Subjective Estimate of self-fitness or Results of “Shin Tairyoku Test (New fitness Test)” is not effective to motivate for regular sport participation in university students. 2． The Higher frequency of sports participation increases motivation of regular sport participation in university students. 3． Motivation of regular sport participation in university students is increased by objective of sports participation for health and stress reduction. These three characteristics have suggested that to recognize effects of sport on physical and mental health, and continuity of habit of sports are effective for motivation of sport participation.
