A fatigue life evaluation model was proposed for torsional fatigue with static torsion or tension over wide range of lifetime. A total shear strain based model contains effect of change of stress-strain response and accumulation of ratcheting strain, mean stress on crack initiation and propagation. It was shown that the model is useful for test results of steels and aluminum alloy under cyclic torsion with static torsion or tension.
