Career decision-making for high school students is one of the realities that they never faced during compulsoryeducation. The transition from school to the social and vocational worlds consists of problems, which are highlighted by the high unemployment rate and Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) issue. Therefore, it is quiteimportant for high school students to think about and learn from the process of career decision making or, in otherwords, career education. Because the term "career" implies the flow of time, career education based on time perspective is important.In this study, we explored desirable career education by clarifying the actual condition of high school students' time perspective. A questionnaire survey was administered to general and correspondence-coursehigh school students (n=1645) to analyze their time perspective, self-worth, and optimism. The results showed thatthere are some differences between school types regarding time perspective, and they suggested that career educationshould be pursued based on students' future views.
