We consider the concept of the “fourth dimension” created by Kenji Miyazawa. Once, Ryu - ju(Nagarjuna) considered the concept of ku-(emptiness), and presented the way of sitting which could lead people to experience kū. Teruji Ishizu considered the third range, and presented the condition of the fatal crisis of life which could lead to experiencing the third range. Kenji Miyazawa considered the fourth dimension, and presented agricultural labor as a means to attaining it. The fourth dimension art is based upon the agricultural labor which allows for deep connections with nature. Only a proper consideration of the fourth dimension can lead people to a clear understanding of Kenji Miyazawa’s works. Engi, interdependent existence, is a key word, and is connected with ku-, the third range and the fourth dimension. In this thesis, the ku- of Ryu - ju, the third range of Teruji Ishizu are properly digested in order to understand the fourth dimension of Kenji Miyazawa. These stages will communicate a proper understanding.
