With the increase in social networking services (SNS), privacy problems related to personal information have become a matter of public concern. Such problems also occur in the practical training context, where trainees are often privy to service users' personal information. Therefore, incorporating SNS manner education into practical classes at social worker training schools is necessary. However, students today, who are said to belong to the "digital native" generation, tend to interact with their smartphones "unconsciously" and "habitually" as they "post" and "tweet" to their SNS accounts. Thus, developing specific education methods that address the question of how "consciousness" regarding these largely unconscious behaviors can be promoted is essential. Therefore, the present study sought to examine the mental states of students during training; furthermore, it also aimed to explore forms of education that resonate with students while drawing on a few actual initiatives being implemented at training schools. The results of the study indicate that manner education on SNS problems is connected to "values" and "ethics," the foundations of social welfare training.
