The purpose of this study is to clarify an alumni identity in the modern Japanese old- system middle school. School experiences played a key role in fermenting the modern Japanese elitism. Students forged alumni identity and connected to the local and national government. An alumni identity played the important role. An alumni association published magazines through which they tried to make stronger the tie between students and alumni And their bonds were represented by alumni identity. However, the identity was focused on the alumni and enrolled students who were set for granduation.
