This study aims to examine the education of children regarding healthy living and food, from the perspective of subjective health sense. It was hypothesized that health guidance would improve students’ knowledge and thus raise their subjective health. Raising subjective health would then lead to an increase in students’ QoL (Quality of Life). The questionnaire comprised questions about exercise, meals, health, and subjective health. The study mainly focused on the factors related to subjective health. The results showed a relationship between self-evaluation of meals and the subjective health. In addition, tutoring was considered important to raise the subjective health of junior high school students. Individual guidance from a dietician regarding meal content increased students’ consciousness of food and made them recognize that food has an influence on growth and on maintaining and improving one’s health.
