The photo-electron transfer (PET)-promoted oxygenation reaction catalyzed by triphenylpyrylium perchlorate (TPPClO_4) was found to be an effective method for the deprotection of tosylhydrazones. Various tosylhydrazones were efficiently deprotected to afford the corresponding ketones and aldehydes.
