"The authors carried out this series of studies to clarify the circumstance under which the Danish seine used in Japan, presently. The netting construction is divided into four types from the formation of wing net (D1 : Figs. 1~7, D2 : Figs. 8~11, D3 : Figs. 12~17, D4 : Figs. 18~20). In relation to the wing length (l_w) or the total length of main net (l_m) to the gross tonnage of fishing boat (G.T.) and to the horse power of main engine (H.P) generally, l_w and l_m have tendency to increase as G.T. and B.P. increase (see Figs. 21 and 22) . (l_w/w_m) and (l_m/w_m) almost never change without reference to the increasing of G.T. and B.P. (see Figs. 24 and 25). On the whole, the construction in every part of the net is shown by the following regression equations ; l_w=0.269G.T.+13.96＝0.6344H.P.+12.58. l_m=0.218G.T.+8.25=0.043H.P.+19.32. M=-4.84×10^{-2}G.T.+17.65=1.47×10^{-2}H.P.+11.61. l_w/w_m=-2.72×10^{-4}G.T.+0.787=2.10×10^{-4}H.P.+0.742. l_m/w_m=1.71×10^{-4}G.T.+0.453=-1.70×10^{-4}H.P.+0.583. where M is the mesh size of wing, w_m is the width of sewing nets (belly, baiting and side panel)."
