Effects of Temperature and Humidity in Storage on the Quality of Seed Bulbs for Spring-Harvesting Cultivation of Allium × wakegi Araki

ワケギ鱗茎を春季に掘り上げ後,軒下吊り下げ貯蔵中に鱗茎の品質低下が顕著となる8 月以前(川口ら,2017,印刷中)からの貯蔵方法を確立するため,貯蔵中の温度および湿度が鱗茎の品質低下および定植後の萌芽に及ぼす影響を調査した.鱗茎の品質低下が少なく定植後の萌芽率が高い低温貯蔵の開始時期は7 月,貯蔵温度は0 あるいは5℃,湿度は70 ~ 90 RH% が適切であると判断した.さらに,鱗茎の貯蔵中の湿度は,予冷庫内の湿度条件に大きく依存することから,除湿機の稼働時間が庫内湿度に及ぼす影響についても検討した.生鮮物を貯蔵する約1 坪の予冷庫において,庫内湿度をワケギ鱗茎の貯蔵に適した70 ~ 90 RH% とするためには,市販の除湿機(除湿能力17.5L・day-1,消費電力室温27℃時400W)を庫内で1 時間あたり15 ~ 45 分稼動することが適していると考えられた.また,湿度設定機能を有する玄米保管用の貯蔵庫では,設定温度を3 ~ 5℃とし高湿度の設定とすることで,ワケギの鱗茎の貯蔵に適応できることが示唆された.
The effects of temperature and humidity on bulb quality and sprouting after planting for spring-harvesting cultivation of Allium × wakegi Araki were investigated as compared with the conventional storage method by hanging under eaves. The cold storage of the bulbs at 0 or 5°C, humidity 70 to 90RH% from July reduced bulb deterioration and promoted sprouting after planting. Since control of humidity (70 to 90RH%) largely depends on the situation and condition of the precooling chamber, it is necessary to pay attention to practical use. In addition, the effect of the operation time of the dehumidifier in precooling chamber was investigated to maintain humidity 70 to 90 RH% suitable for seed bulbs of Allium × wakegi Araki. The possibility of using a storage for brown rice as a storage for bulbs of Allium × wakegi Araki was also investigated. The operation time of commercial dehumidifier (dehumidification capacity 17.5 L・day-1 , power consumption 400 W at 27℃ ) for 15 to 45 minutes per hour in a pre-cooling chamber was suitable for storing bulbs of Allium × wakegi Araki. In addition, a storage for brown rice by setting the temperature to 3 to 5 ℃ and high humidity mode was able to adapt to storage for bulbs of Allium × wakegi Araki.
